What is annual multi-trip travel insurance?

If you travel more than twice a year, an annual policy could save you time and money. Our annual multi-trip travel insurance provides cover for as many trips as you can take in one year. Each trip must not exceed 30 days and a maximum of 180 days travel in the year.

For just one payment, give you and your family peace of mind and protection while away from home. You will even be covered while holidaying in Ireland (please refer to your policy wording for full details). Annual travel insurance cuts out the additional costs and hassles of purchasing individual insurance every time you travel. Our annual policy can also be tailored to your needs and requirements.

What does travel insurance cover?

Travel insurance covers you financially if something happens to you while you’re away or before you travel. This could include the costs of cancelling your trip if you become ill and can’t go, the costs of emergency medical treatment whilst you’re away or if your baggage is lost, damaged or stolen during your trip.

The sooner you buy travel insurance after booking a trip, the sooner you’re protected against any unforeseen events – from breaking your leg to a sudden death of a family member – that could force you to change your plans. That’s why it’s best to buy travel cover on the day you book your holiday.

As an insurance broker, it’s our job to help our clients find the right cover for their travels plans. You can get a quote online here or by speaking to our knowledgeable travel insurance team on 01 9131077.

Travel insurance FAQs

Is COVID-19 covered on Howden travel policies?

Yes, our policy includes cover for COVID-19 medical expenses while abroad. Therefore, if you were to contract COVID-19 while on holiday, you'd be covered for up to €10 million for medical treatment and reasonable additional expenses such as amended flights home and accommodation for an extended stay if required. Cancellation and curtailment due to Covid-19 aren't covered by this policy. If you contract COVID-19 before departure and need to cancel the holiday because of this, that wouldn't be covered.

Are trips within the Republic of Ireland covered?

Travel within the Republic of Ireland is covered, provided that the trip involves an overnight stay of a minimum of two nights in pre-booked accommodation. Please note that medical expense coverage is not provided for trips undertaken in the Republic of Ireland.

Does worldwide insurance cover me for anywhere in the world?
